China's largest archipelago is Zhoushan, located only tens of nautical miles away from Shanghai. Zhoushan island is the largest island of the group, covering 312 square miles, and in size a bit larger than Hong Kong. Since 2002 INAXI HOLLAND is responsible for building the China Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival. The event is a combination of a sand sculpture festival and a sand sculpture competition. The theme is 'Towards Ocean'.
